With classes being canceled, maintenance and custodial employees are completing their routine tasks along with working to deep clean every portion of the school buildings helping to prevent the spread of any potential viruses.

Kent Metzger, district engineer, said the Clorox Total 360 System is being used.  The district began implementing the system over a year ago.   Employees using the system were required to be properly trained.

The system uses a mist that may be sprayed on door handles, chairs, desks and glass.  It is even safe to spray on computers.   The benefit of this cleaning system is the mist provides more uniform coverage over surfaces.  When sprayed, It adheres itself to the surface much better than when a towel is used.  When the surface dries where it has been sprayed, it kills viruses including COVID-19 along with other viruses.

“It is a very effective and efficient way to cover a large amount of square footage quickly,” Metzger said.

Superintendent Larry Lilly thanked maintenance and custodial staff for the work they are doing now and throughout the school year.

“We have some of the most dedicated custodial and maintenance employees who care about the safety and needs of our students and staff,” said Lilly.
