Mattoon Community Unit School District 2 family mourns the loss of our Mayor Tim Gover. We send prayers of support to his family and friends. Mayor Gover was a staunch supporter of our students and staff. His smile and friendly nature as well as his ability to listen and be receptive to new ideas will be missed. We are grateful for his leadership, cooperation, and support when the school district experienced tragedies that required assistance from the city. Mayor Gover’s enthusiasm and dedication to find ways to continually improve Mattoon will be remembered.
