Early Childhood at Mattoon CUSD #2

Mattoon CUSD #2 is proud to support your family from Diapers to Diplomas. We offer a variety of programs that benefit both children and families before they reach school-age. Customize your experience, by selecting our daycare and/or parent education, resources & support.

Program Details

The Prevention Initiative Birth-to-3 program is offered throughout the district, and housed at LIFT and MHS. This program is a grant-funded program that works with the most at-risk families and helps in parent education, mental health, and community resources.

Birth-to-3 is available to Mattoon residents with children ages 0-3. Eligibility is determined by developmental screening, social-emotional screening, and hearing and vision screening.

Supporting the Entire Family:

  • Family resource assessment

  • Identify family needs & connect them to local resources

Family Goal Plan:

  • Developmental goal for child

  • Parent-child interaction goal

  • Family goal

Home Visits:

  • Bi-weekly in the child's natural environment
