The Mattoon CUSD #2 Board of Education recently accepted a $5,000 donation from Land of Lincoln Credit Union (LLCU) to the LIFT (Leaders Innovating for Tomorrow) Scholarship Fund during the June 10, 2025, board meeting.
This marks the fourth consecutive year LLCU has donated to help offset tuition costs for students from outlying school districts. With this contribution, LLCU has now provided a total of $20,000 to the fund, helping expand access to career-focused learning opportunities for students across the region.
Presenting the check on behalf of LLCU were Alex Haney (Branch Operations Manager), Heidi Schlabach (AVP of Consumer Lending), and Sandra Pruitt (Universal Banker).
“We’re happy to be able to present this donation and sponsorship to help support the program,” said Haney. “We strive every day to make sure we’re doing everything we can to financially educate students, and we know you’re doing everything on your side to educate them in the schools. We really do appreciate this partnership.”
“We are grateful for our longstanding partnership with the Land of Lincoln Credit Union.” reflects MCUSD2 Business Manager, Ryan Ghere. “Their consistent support plays a vital role in sustaining the hands-on learning experiences that prepare our LIFT students for successful careers. Their ongoing investment reflects a shared commitment to building a stronger future for both our students and our community.”
