HVAC students create a circuit board

Pictured are students in the HVAC course with their circuit boards.

They have been finishing up a module on electrical theory for HVAC. They have been learning about electricity, series, parallel and combination circuits, and the different components used in a simple HVAC system.

The circuit boards they built are working models of a residential HVAC system with a working thermostat, a representation of a furnace, air handler, and a representation of an A/C condenser. The students also used actual components, to wire the board using a wiring schematic. When energized, it functions like an actual system with the thermostat controlling the components! Great work guys.
