The Mattoon School District has paired with the Department of Early Childhood to offer FREE monthly screenings for children ages birth to five-years old.

The purpose of the screenings is to provide families information regarding their child's development; and identify children in need of early education services.

Free developmental screening is designed to measure a child's development in these specific areas:

• Vocabulary

• Visual-motor integration

• Language and speech development

• English proficiency

• Fine motor skills

• Gross motor skills

• Social skills

• Cognitive development

• Vision and hearing screenings

2024 screening dates will take place at Franklin Preschool: 1201 South 6th Street, Mattoon, IL 61938. 

• Wednesday, February 7th

• Wednesday, March 6th

• Wednesday, April 3rd
