Mattoon Rotary recognizes one Senior male and female at their monthly luncheon as Students of the Month.
Students are nominated by MHS staff and the selection criteria include outstanding academic achievement and citizenship. Rotary Students of the Month for March winners are Kael Alexander and Savannah Cole.
Kael is the son of Kasey and Jodie Alexander. He has been on the Football, Wrestling and Baseball teams at MHS. He is also a member of Music Mentoring. After graduating in May, Kael will pursue a career in welding at Bruder Tank in Sullivan.
Savannah Cole is the daughter of Adrienne and Scott Cole. She is a member of Student Council and the current FFA President. Savannah has received Greenhand, Chapter, and Illinois State Degrees. This fall, Savannah will be attending the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to major in Animal Science with a Pre-Veterinary Science Concentration and eventually go to Veterinary School.
MHS is incredibly proud of these students' achievements and contributions.
