The EV Pathway at LIFT recently completed the construction of the electric vehicle donated by Pilson Auto Centers! WAND News recently stopped by to interview students and facilitators about the experience.
Congrats to the Boys Tennis Team! They finished 2nd out of 14 teams over the weekend in the Mattoon Invitational at Lytle Park. Dalton Short and Will Pullen won the 1 and 2 singles Championships!

We hope everyone had a great Spring Break! We can't wait to welcome students back tomorrow (4/11).
Over 500 MHS students recently qualified for the positive incentive movie day! Movie options included "Creed III", "Champions", and "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania".
Students that met the positive incentive of maintaining 80% or higher of their point total qualified for the movies. Points can be earned daily through attendance, no discipline referrals, and a weekly GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Baseball Rescheduled: Due to adverse weather conditions for today (4/5/23), the Mattoon vs. Robinson Baseball game has been cancelled. Varsity Baseball will play a rescheduled game with Robinson HS on 4/26/23 at Mattoon. Game time is 5:00 p.m. Tennis Site & Time Change: Varsity & JV Tennis will travel to Richland County on 4/6/23. Start time is 4:00 p.m. at Olney City Park.
Cheer Tryouts for 2023-2024 will be held April 12- 14 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the MHS North Gym. Candidates should be registered on 8to18. Candidates should have a current physical on file in the MHS athletic office. Get all the details with the link below:

Varsity Baseball DH scheduled for 11:00 am has been moved to 4/3/23 AT Baker Field in Charleston. Game time is 4:00 pm. Bus time is 2:30 pm.

The MHS Drama Club presents "The Lightning Thief" tonight and tomorrow night (March 30th & 31st) at 7:00pm in the MHS Gym. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students. Don't forget to stop by the MHS Art Show/Sale on the way into the show!
The Lightning Thief is a book by Joe Tracz with Music & Lyrics by Rob Rokicki and adapted from the book "The Lightning Thief" by Rick Riordan.
The Mattoon Greenwave Winter Guard will be performing their competition show "Home" for friends and family in the Mattoon High School North Gym at 7:00 PM this evening (3/30).
The team has been working hard and will be leaving for the MCCGA Winter Guard Championships in Springfield, MO on Friday, March 31. The guard is under the direction of Allison Lawrence and Courtney StJohn. Best of luck Greenwave!
