Attention all aspiring musicians! Downtown Mattoon will be the focal point of the first annual music camp and festival. This 3-day event is open for students entering grades 5 through 12 for Fall of 2021.
Participants will get hands-on instruction and performance experience with bass guitar, keyboard, drums, guitar, and ukulele, as well as listen to guest speakers share their experience in the music industry on such topics as performing, songwriting, management, marketing, sound engineering, and higher education. Bringing it all together in the end for participant performances and a concert at Heritage Park.
This event is made possible through the collaborative efforts of Sound Source Music, the Mattoon Arts Council, and the Mattoon CUSD #2 School District.
When: Wednesday, June 16, Thursday, June 17, and Friday, June 18
Time: 9:00am to 2:30 each day with community performance beginning at 5:30 Friday, June 18.
