Signing Day

Mattoon High School held its inaugural college signing day on Wednesday, February 7th. The next signing day will be held on May 1st.

MHS 2024 Graduate and Student-Athlete Ashley Earp signed with Vincennes University where she will continue her volleyball career. Earp has been playing volleyball in Mattoon for the past six years. She's played for the 217 Club Volleyball, MMS, and MHS. Earp plans to study nursing in college and noted that she chose the college for their volleyball program, beautiful campus and facilities, and strong academic program in her major. Earp stated, "I am excited for the opportunity to play at the collegiate level!"

Signing DayMHS 2024 Graduate and Student-Athlete Owen Hawkins signed with Lake Land College where he will continue his baseball career. Hawkins has been playing baseball in Mattoon for the past ten years. He's played for the Mattoon HitMen, Champaign Yard Goats, and MHS. Hawkins plans to study Sports Management in college and noted that he chose the college after being impressed with the coaches and believing it would be an excellent environment for his athletic development. Hawkins stated, "I'm extremely excited to begin my senior season with the coaches and players who have been such a great support system throughout the years. They've shaped who I am as an athlete and I look forward to what this year holds for my team and I."

Signing DaySigning DayMHS 2024 Graduate and Student-Athlete Kamryn Conlin signed with Lake Land College where she will continue her softball career. Conlin has been playing softball in Mattoon for the past fourteen years. She's played for the Mattoon Pride, MMS, and MHS. Conlin plans to study Diagnostic Medical Sonography in college and noted that she chose LLC for their amazing programs. Conlin stated, "I am very excited to continue my education and my softball career at Lake Land. Growing up playing softball at the next level was a huge dream of mine so I am very excited and blessed that I am capable of continuing to play at the college level and get to live that dream of mine."
