The Second Annual LIFT Central Illinois Race (5K Duathlon and 1 Mile Fun Run), scheduled for Saturday, May 24, 2025 has been canceled due to low participation rates. Pre-registered participants can visit the race website and complete a refund request at https://mcusd2.org/LIFTRace. Entry fees from those who do not submit refund requests will go toward the LIFT Scholarship Fund, directly benefiting regional high school students.
LIFT would like to thank this year’s race sponsors who generously donated to the scholarship fund: Land of Lincoln Credit Union, Earthrise Energy, Commercial Electric Inc., Dimond Bros. Insurance, Auto-Owners Insurance, and First-Mid Bank and Trust.
Regional student, Gage Daugherty, reflected on what receiving a scholarship means to her: “Receiving the scholarship to come to LIFT has helped me to pursue my passion for IT [Information Technology] earlier in life. The courses I have taken at LIFT and the leadership opportunities I have been given have enabled me to stand out amongst my peers and helped me receive scholarships to continue my learning.” Gage is currently a senior at LIFT pursuing her CompTIA Security+ certification in the Information Technology pathway.
