Mattoon Middle School is excited to welcome incoming sixth-grade students and their families to Discovery Day on Thursday, August 7, 2025. This special event is designed to help ease the transition to middle school by giving students a chance to explore the building, meet staff, and get comfortable with their new schedule.
During Discovery Day, students will have the opportunity to:
Tour Mattoon Middle School
Meet their new teachers
Practice opening their locker
Familiarize themselves with their class schedule
To ensure a smooth and personalized experience, families are asked to sign up for one of three available time slots:
Option 1: 10:00–10:30 AM
Option 2: 10:45–11:15 AM
Option 3: 11:30 AM–12:00 PM
All incoming sixth-grade students and their parents or guardians are encouraged to attend.
