Mattoon High School Takes 1st Place in Section 20 Food Science

Mattoon High School (MHS) recently hosted the Section 20 Food Science competition. Events included a sensory test, math team problem, customer inquiries, and a general knowledge test. The MHS team brought home 1st place overall!

Individual highlights:

  • Hailey Andersen – 2nd overall

  • Callaway Wagner – 3rd overall

  • Parker Spears – 5th overall

  • Brailynn Herendeen – Top 25 finish


We’re so proud of this amazing group and their hard work. They will compete at the state level on November 7th.
