The Mattoon Middle School Wrestling Team had a strong showing at the IESA AA Sectional D in Jacksonville on Saturday, March 7, with four athletes qualifying for the IESA State tournament next weekend at Northern Illinois University.
State qualifiers include Leland Hubbart (80 lbs, 3rd place), Grant Kiger (85 lbs, 3rd place), Kade Hensley (145 lbs, 3rd place), and Bryson Gentry (145 lbs, 2nd place).
The team’s performance highlights their dedication and hard work this season, and they head to state ready to compete among the top wrestlers in Illinois.
