On September 9, Mattoon High School and Mattoon Middle School welcomed author and guest speaker Sam Demma for a day focused on connection, positivity and making a difference in the school community.
Sam spoke with students about creating positive school experiences, building meaningful relationships, and recognizing the impact each person can have on those around them. Through stories and practical insights, he encouraged students to consider how small actions can help create a stronger, more connected school community.
Students at both schools had the opportunity to hear from Sam during school assemblies, while community members were also invited to an evening presentation.
Thank you to Sam for spending the day with our students and encouraging them to think about the ways they can make a difference in their schools and communities!
