Riddle Elementary students are stepping into leadership roles this school year, helping make morning arrival a welcoming and organized part of the school day.
Each year, students in 4th and 5th grade have the opportunity to apply for one of several leadership positions: Table Leader, Classroom Conductor, Greeter or Hallway Monitor. Students learn about the available roles during the school’s morning meeting before completing an application that asks them to share their strengths and how they would contribute in their chosen position.
Riddle staff members review the applications and select students for the available positions. Once their lanyards are ready, students are officially welcomed into their new roles during a special hiring day celebration in the cafeteria.
Throughout the school year, student leaders help their peers, welcome students and visitors, guide classmates to their classrooms and help reinforce school expectations.
These leadership opportunities give students a chance to take responsibility, serve their school community and put their own strengths to work each morning.
