Pippin honored 2021

In remembrance of Veterans Day, Mattoon High School JROTC and the Mattoon school board honored the late Master Sgt. Donald Pippin for his military service of 22 years and work as a JROTC instructor at Mattoon High School. His family accepted the award at the Mattoon school board meeting 11-9-21. The family was also honored for being one of the many military families who make sacrifices while their loved ones are serving. The MHS JROTC presents an award named after Master Sgt. Pippin called the Pippin Award. It is presented to an outstanding freshman cadet during the annual JROTC awards.
