Mattoon Middle School Reading Committee students Jacob Philpott, Chloe Bennett and Leah Hampton, along with Ingrid Minger, MMS media specialist, not pictured, presented this year’s Read Across Mattoon book selection at the January 11, 2022 school board meeting. This year’s title is “An Invisible Thread,” by Laura Schroff and Alex Tresniowski. The non-fiction book is available in three additions: adult, young adult and children’s version. Read Across Mattoon is celebrating its 20th year. The program encourages literacy and the joy of reading for all ages. Each year, the MMS reading committee selects a book for the community to read.
