Meet the LIFT Director, McLain Schaefer.
Schaefer started his career as a Social Science teacher at MHS in 2009. After teaching for 8 years at MHS and coaching Cross Country and Track, he transitioned into administration as an Assistant Principal at Effingham High School for one year before taking the reigns at Williams Elementary as principal in 2018.
Schaefer will now aid students throughout the region as they earn dual credit, certifications, and credentials in a variety of fields.
When asked what he's most looking forward to Schaefer stated, "I am blessed and humbled with the opportunity to be a part of something so great for our community, our region, but most importantly, our students. I am most looking forward to seeing students develop as leaders within their chosen pathways and graduate better equipped for their next steps post-high school! Great things are ahead, that's for sure!"
LIFT (Leaders Innovating for Tomorrow) will open its doors for the first time on August 17, 2022. Programs include Culinary Arts, Childcare, Communications, Information Technology, Green Energy/HVAC/Mechatronics/Robotics, Leadership, and Manufacturing/Architecture/Construction.
