The Wavette Dance Camp for K-5 is happening tomorrow (12/15) at Riddle & Williams Elementary. Each camper will be taught by a group of high school dancers led by one or more veteran dancers of the team. $20 per participant - bring money tomorrow with the form linked (checks can be made out to MHS Dance Team)
All attending will be invited back to perform with the Wavettes during half-time of the Junior Varsity Girls Basketball Game on Friday, December 16th.

MHS students are enjoying their new water bottle filling station granted by Delta Dental of Illinois!
Last year, the student Wellness Committee, a subcommittee of the student Lighthouse Team, surveyed students to find what enhancements could be made at MHS to improve students’ overall wellness. Updated water fountains was a very common response. The team applied for the "H2O on the Go Water Bottle Filling Station" grant. The grant also included water bottles and toothbrushes for every high school student.
The Wellness Committee is now busy presenting to each Wave Time on the importance of drinking water for oral and overall health.

These students had to submit an audition video in early October. Being selected for the District 5 Festival is one of the highest achievements for a high school musician. The District 5 Festival was Saturday, November 19th in the Doudna Fine Arts Center at Easter Illinois University.

MHS collected donations for the Coles County Veterans Support Coalition. They were able to get $167.50 in the boot. A special thank you to Mr. Walk's Class E course who donated $100 of that!

Don't forget, the MHS Chess Team is selling official 2023 St. Louis Cardinals calendars! The order deadline to receive calendars by the holidays has been extended to Saturday, November 26. This year's calendar will have Albert Pujols on the cover and is "saluting Albert, Yadi, Waino, Goldy, Nado and the history-making highlights of 2022."

Several MHS Juniors have been spending their Wednesday evenings preparing for the upcoming SAT. Students who participated in the fall math and English sessions took SAT practice tests to better understand what skills they need to work on before the SAT in March. Students worked with teachers to develop a study plan to better focus their time and study habits.
There is still time for interested MHS Juniors to sign up for the winter SAT Prep Class. The winter session will start January 11, 2023, and will meet every Wednesday evening from 6:00PM to 8:00 PM for 8 weeks. Students may sign up by completing this form: https://forms.gle/xpW5gRoGLm6bbEkP9
