On June 15th the Birth-3 Program hosted their June family night pool party!
There were 97 Birth-3 family members in attendance (the biggest family event to date!) We offered pizza, admission to the pool, and door prizes.
Beginning with the end in mind, we encourage family to create lasting relationships with other families in the program. These connections creates a support network within our families.
Birth-3 is the place to be! This program is free for prenatal moms and families with children under the age of 3 who reside in the MCUSD #2 district. The program offers developmental, social social emotional, hearing and Vision screenings for children 3 and under.

Today celebrates the anniversary of when the US approved the design for our nation's first national flag in 1777.
In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation making June 14 the official date for Flag Day, and in 1949 Congress permanently made the date National Flag Day.

This past week the Birth-3 program had fun with our Parent Ed event. We learned how to make picky eaters love fruits and veggies. We made fun art projects that you could EAT! Every child made yummy snacks and went home with snack kits to do at home. Each family also got a cookbook focused on making food fun.

Franklin Preschool had their annual Fun Day on Friday, May 20th. Students were able to visit different stations that consisted of a Carnival in the school gym, rock painting for the butterfly garden, two bouncy houses, snow cones, a train ride, and rocket launchers on the playground. There were also special Paw Patrol visitors as well! Special thanks to all those that volunteered to help make this possible. We couldn't hold big events for our students without all the help we receive from the community, school district, and different organizations around Mattoon.
