Franklin Preschool recently raised $600 dollars with our annual penny wars fundraiser! Money raised went to Camp New Hope to help with their summer programs. Students voted on what they wanted to raise money for and Camp New Hope was the winner.

Just a day in the life of a Birth to 3 Home Visitor!
Miss Hannah worked on introducing early math skills with Paisley and her mom, Amanda last week. Together, they started by sorting various pom poms by color. Then, Paisley was able to graph each color by size, going from biggest to smallest. After the graph was made, Paisley counted how many there were of each color. This simple activity provided parent-child interaction, while promoting the early math skills of color identification, graphing, counting, and categorizing. We love having Paisley and her mom in our program!

*WIGs Wednesday*
Meet Christian Pettyjohn from Franklin Preschool! Christian is in Miss Polston’s Full-Day classroom. His personal WIG (Wildly Important Goal) is to follow the classroom rules. Christian said, “I need to have listening ears, a calm body, watching eyes, and a quiet voice. If I have a problem I know I can talk to a teacher.” Christian said that when he has a good day, and follows the rules, it makes him “happy and excited.” At school, Christian enjoys playing with his friends, playing outside, and making art projects. Miss Polston said, “Christian has made a lot of progress towards his goal this year! He is really working on self-regulation and we are so proud of him! He is very excited for kindergarten!”
