We are hiring! Full-Time Bus Drivers, Subs, and Aids. Full-Time Bus Drivers are guaranteed 4 hours a day and receive health insurance, paid holidays, personal and sick leave, and IMRF retirement. Mattoon Middle School is creating a Makerspace in the Media Center! Makerspaces provide hands-on, creative ways to encourage students to design, experiment, build and invent as they engage in classroom curriculum. This space is designed to accommodate a wide range of activities, tools, and materials including a laser-engraver, embroidery machine, and sublimation printer. We can't wait to see all of the amazing projects and creations designed in this space. The Makerspace will be maintained by the STEAM Club and Mass Media class. We are asking for donations of consumable items for our Makerspace. Donations can be dropped off to the MMS main office anytime during the school year. Mattoon Middle School students led storytime at the Mattoon Public Library! The students will lead storytime the third Monday of each month between now and May at the public library! Join us next month on Monday, November 21 at 10:00 AM #MCUSD2 #Mattoon #MMS

Zion Johnson just finished a Monopoly board for Industrial Tech class at MMS! She cut the board, stained it, and then used the Media Centers Cricut to finalize the design. The Hannah Mansell annual Memorial 5K race was held on Saturday, September 24th. Proceeds from the race went to the Hannah Mansell Happy Day Memorial Foundation to be distributed to the EIASE students with whom she worked, and to continue funding a scholarship in Hannah’s name for ASL students at William Woods University, her Alma Mater. Hannah Mansell was a sign language interpreter for EIASE. She worked in both Williams Elementary and MMS for several years. Her positive demeanor and spread of sunshine and smiles impacted all the students and staff in both buildings. #MCUSD2 #Mattoon
