We have a couple of menu changes coming up. On Tuesday November 9th they will be serving Fish Sticks. On Tuesday November 16th lunch will be Cheese Pizza. The menu on the dining section has been changed as well.

During Leadership Learning Day at Riddle, 5th grade students went back to 4th grade to reteach Habit 5. They taught the 4th graders backwards Simon Says in order to Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood. Fourth graders also used Habit 6 to Synergize while working together.




Multi-age students in Mrs. Simpson's class completed a Candy Corn Tower Challenge. They worked together using candy corn and toothpicks to create the tallest tower. The last photo shows the winning students with their tower.




Riddle Elementary second grade students have been designing a tool that utilizes static electricity in STEAM class. The tool transfers pollen (paper confetti) to a different flower just as a bee would.

Riddle Elementary School is having a Leadership Learning Day on Friday, October 29th. Student leaders created posters and placed them around the building to promote the day. On Thursday October 14, the Movers and Shakers Team helped unload and organize boxes of candy from our fundraiser. This team efficiently organized the boxes and prizes in a record amount of time so they were ready for parent pick up.





Riddle Elementary School will be holding a Book Fair! It will be located in the Library for one day only - Friday, October 22 from 7:45 AM until 4:30 PM. This is during Parent-Teacher Conference Day. In Mr. Niemerg's after school art class on October 6th, students observed a very messy demonstration of pour painting. If you have any old paint at home this could be a great way to use up that paint. For the second tallest tower session in STEAM, makers were able to move to the next step of the engineering design process, which is create! Makers used their blueprints to construct their towers. For towers to qualify for measurement, they must have been identical to the blueprint. Once measured, teams were encouraged to make another tower that was even taller!

First graders and K/1 multi-age students made thank you cards and treat bags for the Mattoon Police during Green and Gold Day.





Third graders in Mrs. Ferrar's class picked up trash and pulled weeds around the building during Green and Gold Day. They also made thank you posters for the office, custodians and kitchen staff.
