The enrollment form is below. Please complete by April, 22nd. Enrollment in the Summer School programs is limited, and a waiting list may be necessary. Since the space is limited, please check the dates to ensure that your child will be able to attend regularly to experience the maximum benefits from this program. Congrats to Mrs. Dinaso’s class at William's Elementary for receiving the Class of the Month trophy.
They received the award for having the best behavior in the building among classes that needed substitutes recently. The class also organizes and runs the Lost and Found on a daily basis and they are doing an amazing job with this leadership project!

It's National School Librarian Day and National Library Week and our celebration of Mattoon District Librarians continues. Next up, we want to say thank you to Mrs. Hettinger who works at Williams Elementary School.
"I am so fortunate to be a part of the Williams Elementary School family! My favorite part of being the Librarian is that I get to see everyone in the entire building every week. I get to help them find just the book/author that can transport them to magical, far-off places. The best part of my day is when a student finds something new they are excited about. I also love seeing students outside of the school walls and they tell me about a book they are reading. :)
Our One Book One School project has already kicked off with a bulletin board that has clues about this year's selection. Every day we reveal a new clue. The books will be distributed the day we come back from spring break. One book goes to each household, thanks to a grant from the Howell Asphalt Family Foundation. We look forward to this project each year. We will conclude the book with a celebration at our Title One Family Night being held on May 5th this year." - Mrs. Hettinger

The Mattoon Middle School will be hosting 6th Grade Orientation on April 26th from 5:30-7:00 PM. Please arrive at the Wildcat Gym on time to ensure you don't miss anything.
Students will be able to meet the teachers, practice opening lockers, tour the building, and enjoy a scavenger hunt while learning more about MMS.

Today was the 2nd Annual Williams Elementary PTO 5k and 1 Mile Color Run/Walk! It was a little chilly, but a lot of fun 🏃♀️🏃♂️👟
The event also included a ninja course, food, a tattoo station and more!

Williams Elementary is starting their "One Book, One School" Countdown! They will be revealing a clue every day from now until spring break. The final reveal will be on Friday, April 8.
Students and staff will be receiving the books the first day after spring break on April 19th. Students will be reading chapters throughout the school week culminating with a family night on May 5th.

Mrs. Muzzy and Mrs. Hettinger recently took this group of fifth graders to Barnes & Noble to buy books for our schools. Each student earned their spot on the bus by reading and passing the quiz of 18 or more Bluestem books this year! It was an amazing accomplishment for all of them and it was great to be able to enjoy a field trip together.
