Williams Elementary students ended the year strong in Run Club. The students pictured are those who earned Top 25 among all of the school, including one 1st grader and one 2nd grader. 5th grader, Nolan Weaver, earned the #1 spot by running 74 miles this year! This was 7 more miles than our leader last year. In addition, we also had 8 more students who made our Rockstar Runners chart by running over 35 miles. Way to go kiddos!

Ms. Wetzel's class at Williams Elementary recently had a Poet Tea on April 28th to celebrate national poetry month. For a month, students wrote a total of eight poems. At the end of the poetry unit, students shared their poems with staff and parents at the Poet Tea. Students shared their poems in front of all of the guests and enjoyed snacks and drinks afterward to celebrate their hard work.

Ms. McCoy's class at Williams Elementary recently completed a project to help out the graduating seniors at MHS. They were contacted by the Project Graduation Committee and asked if they would like to help out with a special project. They worked together to decorate and stuff 160 envelopes for graduates that attend Project Graduation. The class was asked to stuff each envelope with 100 "Project Graduation Dollars". However, students thought the envelopes were a little "boring" and wanted to jazz it up a bit. Therefore, each envelope, all 160, have been decorated with many colors and a positive message! The class believed that the seniors have worked hard and they should know how proud the younger students are as they "play" all the fun games at Project Graduation that night.

Williams Elementary School recently had Matthew Bannon with Robo Wunderkind come to share great information about robots with the kindergarteners. Students learned to build real-world representations of robots, improve their coding and problem-solving skills, increase their interest in STEAM lessons, and improve their self-efficacy to learn and practice STEAM. Thank you Matthew for sharing your passion for STEAM and robots with us!
