Make plans for Kindergarten Transition night on Thursday, May 11th from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at William's Elementary School.
Ms. McCoy's class at Williams Elementary has been working all year on a monthly podcast called, "Happy Habits". You can find it on Spotify. They highlight one habit per month and it features a new group of 5-6 students each time. ALL students have made an appearance on the podcast and are now circling back for round 2! The kids recently came up with the idea of wanting to share their podcast with the community.
For Leader In Me's Global Leadership Celebration Day, each student created 3 bookmarks, and on the back of these bookmarks, provided a QR code that will link readers in the community to their podcast. It also lists an email for readers to send a review or a request for a podcast episode. Students visited the Mattoon Public Library and chose 3 books to put the bookmarks into. The MHS Tech Leadership students have been collaborating with other teams throughout the district at Riddle, Williams, and MMS. Each tech team has collaborated on what is working well within each respective team, what they enjoy about their leadership opportunities, and areas that they would like to continue to grow.
Ms. Ames and Mrs. Hoenes' classes at Williams Elementary spent last month learning about friendships. Mrs. Jackley came and read the class a book about being a friend and brought a special snack! The students paired up and began a new friendship over the snack.
Students and families are invited to visit their student's elementary school during their open houses on Thursday, March 30th.
